Lillian Brooks |  Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Coordinator

Lillian R. Brooks is proudly from Detroit, Michigan. She is an ardent follower of Dr. Gail Christopher’s (the architect of Truth Racial healing and Transformation) Rx Racial Healing Circle approach. Lillian has been an active healing circle facilitator with TRHT-Metro Lansing since 2018, hosting healing circles with multiple community cohorts across Michigan. Lillian also served as a presenter for the National Day of Racial Healing conferences in 2019- 2022. She is passionate about racial healing. The thrust of her work is eradicating the belief that there is a hierarchy of human value through the implementation of the TRHT framework.  

Lillian earned a PhD in Higher Education Administration with a cognate in K-12 education, from Michigan State University, an MBA with a focus on marketing from University of Detroit Mercy, and a BS in marketing and international management from Georgetown University. Lillian’s research included studies on student transition to college and student success. Lillian experienced working with school administrators across the Greater Lansing area as the team leader for the Lansing Community College’s College and Career Readiness (C3R) Program-designed to prepare high school students for successful transition to college. She held multiple administrative positions at Western Michigan University and Michigan State University, which involved managing student programs, academic advising, and mentoring students on careers. 

Prior to returning to Michigan, Lillian was president the Central Florida Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, Marketing Specialist for the Central Florida African American Chamber of Commerce, and served as diversity consultant to the Downtown Orlando Marketing Association. Lillian was an operations manager for the Walt Disney World company where she completed diversity and inclusion training at Disney University. Drawing on this training and incorporating personal experiences, Lillian created and delivered diversity educational workshops to her employees.
