Sophia Simon | Scholar
Sophia Simon is a native of Lansing, MI, and is a rising Junior at Northwestern University where she studies Communication Studies with minors in Spanish and Global Health. At Northwestern, Sophia has maintained a 3.97 G.P.A and has been on the Dean’s List for the School of Communication for all 6 quarters she has attended the university. She is a passionate individual who is currently interested in gaining experience in digital media, non-profit work, and community engagement, and is excited to see how these three areas of interest interact.
Service and community involvement are major priorities for Sophia. At Northwestern, she is actively involved in For Members Only, Northwestern’s Black Student Union, where she serves as the Director of Communications and Archives; the Theta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she serves as First Vice President; Soul4Real Acapella Group where she serves as President; Camp Kesem, where she serves as a counselor for children whose families have been affected by cancer; and Books and Breakfast, where she tutors underserved children at a local elementary school.
After she graduates, Sophia intends to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Health and potentially a Law Degree.
Sophia is grateful to begin work with One Love Global this summer and is looking forward to this learning experience!
