OBJECTIVES

- Reduce the number of African Americans entering the corrections system

- Increase the number of African Americans entering and completing higher education

- Improve racially biased and stereotypical media practices by creating and promoting accurate and diverse representations of African American culture

- Educate and inform stakeholders, legislation and public policy to increase awareness of the transgenerational impact of poverty and racism

- Stabilize young families living in and on the brink of poverty through education, training, employment and social enterprise development
